2,5-furandicarboxylic acid (FDCA) can be used as a short-term modifier for petroleum based polymers in the production of biodegradable plastics, semi aromatic nylon, unsaturated resins, etc., with enormous market potential.
2,5-Furandicarboxylic acid is an important monomer to replace petroleum based terephthalic acid (PTA) in structure, and various functional polymers can be prepared downstream, such as aramid (high-performance fiber), polyester (bottle, container and film), polyamide (new nylon), polyurethane, degradable plastic, unsaturated resin, etc.
