1.It is a food flavor, mainly used for the preparation of fruit flavors such as pears, apples, grapes and cherries.

2.It is widely used in the synthesis of barbituric acid, amino acids, Vitamins B1, B2 and B6, sleeping drugs and phenylbutazone.

3.It is also widely used in other chemical production fields, including pesticides, industrial dyes, liquid crystal materials, etc.

4. Building blocks in synthesis: It is commonly used as a precursor in the synthesis of various organic compounds, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and dyes.

5. Malonate Synthesis: Diethyl malonate is often used in malonate synthesis, which is a method for producing carboxylic acids and their derivatives.

6. Preparation of β-keto acids: β-keto acids can be synthesized through a process called alkylation.

7. Production of heterocyclic compounds: Diethyl malonate is used in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds, which are important in medicinal chemistry.

8. Seasoning and Spice: Due to its fruity smell, it can also be used in the food and spice industry.

It is soluble in chloroform, benzene and other organic solvents. Slightly soluble in water.

1. Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. It should be stored separately from oxidants, strong alkalis, and reducing agents, and avoid mixed storage. Equipped with the appropriate variety and quantity of fire equipment. The storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and suitable storage materials.

2. Store and transport in accordance with the regulations of flammable chemicals.

1. Container: Store diethyl malonate in a sealed container to prevent contamination and evaporation. Use containers made of glass or compatible plastic.

2. Temperature: Please store it in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Ideally, it should be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator if long-term storage is required.

3. Inert Gas: If possible, store under an inert gas such as nitrogen or argon to minimize exposure to moisture and air, which may cause hydrolysis or oxidation.

4. Label: Clearly label containers with chemical name, concentration, and storage date to ensure proper identification and handling.

5. Safety Precautions: Follow all safety guidelines and regulations for handling and storing chemicals, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling diethyl malonate.

1. Avoid contact with oxidants, reducing agents and alkalis. The chemical properties are more stable than diethyl oxalate. Since it is easily hydrolyzed to produce malonic acid, which is more acidic, it is necessary to prevent inhalation of vapor or contact with the skin.

2. This product has low toxicity, rat oral LD50>1600mg/kg, but it will be hydrolyzed into acid in the body, avoid contact. Wash after contact. Operators should wear rubber gloves.

1. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure you comply with all local, national and international regulations regarding the transportation of chemicals. This may include proper labeling, documentation and compliance with hazardous materials regulations.

2. Packaging: Use appropriate packaging materials that are compatible with diethyl malonate. The container should be leakproof and made of materials that do not react with the chemical. Make sure the packaging is strong enough to withstand handling during transportation.

3. Temperature Control: Keep the temperature of diethyl malonate stable during transportation. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, which will affect the integrity of the chemical.

4. Inert Gas: If possible, diethyl malonate should be transported in a manner that minimizes its exposure to air and moisture, as these may cause it to degrade.

5. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ensure that personnel responsible for transporting diethyl malonate wear appropriate PPE, including gloves, goggles, and protective clothing to prevent skin and eye contact.

6. Emergency Procedures: Have emergency procedures in place in case a spill or leak occurs during transport. This includes having a spill kit ready at all times and ensuring personnel are trained in emergency response.

7. Avoid incompatible materials: During transportation, diethyl malonate should be kept away from incompatible materials such as strong oxidants, acids and bases to prevent dangerous reactions.
