Monomethyl adipate is primarily used as an intermediate in the production of various compounds, including esters and plasticizers. Due to its solvent properties, it is also used in the formulation of coatings, adhesives, and sealants. In addition, it is used in the production of certain polymers and as a flavoring agent in foods.
It is widely used in the synthesis of high-grade surfactants, and used as additives of high-grade lubricating oil and fuel, emulsifier products, perfume solvent, etc.
It is insoluble in water, soluble in alcohol, ether and other organic solvents.
