Phenyl salicylate, or salol, is a chemical substance, introduced in 1886 by Marceli Nencki of Basel.
It can be created by heating salicylic acid with phenol.
Once used in sunscreens, phenyl salicylate is now used in the manufacture of some polymers, lacquers, adhesives, waxes and polishes.
It is also used frequently in school laboratory demonstrations on how cooling rates affect crystal size in igneous rocks.

【Use One】
Used as a preservative, also used in the pharmaceutical and organic synthesis industries
【Use Two】
Used as UV absorber, plasticizer, preservative for plastic products, used in drug synthesis, formulation of flavors, etc.
【Use Three】
This product is an ultraviolet absorber used in plastic products. However, the absorption wavelength range is narrow and the light stability is poor. It is also used as a medical disinfectant and preservative and used in organic synthesis. It is also used to make spices.
【Use four】
Organic Synthesis. Colorimetric determination of iron ions. Light absorber for plastics to prevent discoloration. Stabilizer for vinyl plastics. Fixing agent.

It is soluble in ether, benzene and chloroform, soluble in ethanol, almost insoluble in water and glycerol.

Store in a tightly closed container. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances.

1. Temperature: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Ideal storage temperature is usually between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F).

2. Container: Store in a sealed container to prevent contamination and evaporation. Use containers made of materials that are compatible with organic solvents.

3. Label: Make sure the container is clearly labeled with the chemical name, concentration, and any hazard warnings.

4. Ventilation: Store in a well-ventilated area to minimize accumulation of vapor.

5. Avoid incompatible substances: Keep away from strong oxidants and other incompatible substances.

Phenyl salicylate is generally considered to have low toxicity when used appropriately. However, like many chemicals, it can pose risks in certain situations:

1. Skin Irritation: It may cause mild skin irritation in some people, especially when used in high concentrations or those with sensitive skin.

2. Allergic reactions: Some people may experience allergic reactions, including dermatitis, after contact.

3. Ingestion: Ingestion of large amounts may be harmful and may cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or gastrointestinal upset.

4. Inhalation: Inhalation of large amounts of vapor may cause respiratory irritation.

1. Regulatory Compliance: Check and follow local, national, and international regulations regarding the transportation of chemicals. Phenyl salicylate may be classified as a hazardous material, so make sure to follow the appropriate guidelines.

2. Packaging: Use appropriate packaging materials that are compatible with phenylsalicylic acid. The container should be leakproof and made of materials that can withstand the characteristics of the chemical. Use secondary seals to prevent leakage during transportation.

3. Label: Clearly label the packaging with the chemical name, hazard symbol, and any relevant safety information. This includes handling instructions and emergency contact information.

4. Temperature Control: If necessary, ensure that the transport method maintains appropriate temperature conditions to prevent degradation or change in the properties of the chemical.

5. Avoid Exposure: Ensure transport personnel are aware of potential hazards and are equipped with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to avoid skin contact or inhalation of vapors.

6. Emergency Procedures: Develop emergency procedures to deal with spills or accidents during transportation. This includes preparing spill kits and first aid supplies.

7. Documentation: Prepare and include all necessary shipping documentation such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS), shipping manifests, and any required permits.
